THE SOLUTION
APRIL PREYAR, CRIMINAL DEFENSE ATTORNEY
After working 20 years as a criminal defense attorney, I created Trials & Triumph Board Game to combat these dangerous consequences.
In just 25 minutes, the game teaches teens how to stay safe when stopped by police and how to stay out of jail.
INTRODUCING TRIALS & tRIUMPH bOARD GAME
CREATED BY AN ATTORNEY WITH YOUR TEEN IN MIND.
Trials & Triumph Board Game is a tabletop, Monopoly-style educational game.
It teaches teens how to interact with police safely in dozens of real-life scenarios.
HOW TO PLAY
Players roll the die to start and begin to move through the World of Possibilities, the ups and downs of life.
Along the way to Triumph (ie. success), a Player may land on a Flashing Lights space. This indicates police contact.
The Player then draws a Flashing Lights card. The card will either land them in the World of Trouble, the criminal courts, or back on their way to Triumph.
The 7 Rules of Police Encounters are reiterated throughout the game. Whether a Player follows them or not, determines their outcome.
The only way to lose the game is to"run your mouth" and lose your trial while charged with a felony.
THE CARDS.
The Flashing Lights Cards introduce teens to 54 real-life, common police stop scenarios.
Teens quickly recognize actions that lead to arrest and harm.
"I liked that the game was like real life situations and consequences." - Wilesha, 16
