Locked & Loaded - Illinois Firearm Owners Masterclass RECORDING

For at least the last 5 or 6 years, the majority of cases in the criminal courts in Illinois have been gun cases.  In my personal law practice, the majority of these cases have been LEGAL gun owners who missed a step or two or ten and were facing felony charges.  

If convicted, these unfortunate individuals would not only lose their liberty, they would lose their ability to ever carry a firearm legally anywhere in the United States.  

As a criminal defense attorney, FOID holder, and former CCL holder, I have a unique perspective on the extra hoops that the State of Illinois makes citizens jump through in order to obtain and keep their gun licenses. 

I also know that once those gun rights are lost, they are often lost forever.  

This 90-minute masterclass will be a snapshot of the current legal landscape for gun owners in Illinois and how you can avoid inadvertently losing your 2nd Amendment rights. 

We will cover the 5 most common mistakes that legal gun owners make to get arrested:

1. Ridin' Dirty: a FOID and CCL are not equal! You cannot carry a weapon outside of your home or business with only a FOID. You will be facing prison time.
2. Strapped! You are carrying wrong! A CCL does not give you unbridled authority to carry your gun however you like. Carry correctly or lose your rights forever.
3. BEEF! You got hot and bothered because a driver cut you off so you whip out your gun to show them who's boss! Get ready to rock some new metal bracelets! 
4. Smokin' On Hayyyyyy: handlng a firearm during or after smoking marijuana or drinking alcohol will land you in the backseat of a police car.
5. Can't Touch This!:  if an unauthorized person gets ahold of your gun, you may get both of you arrested.
